Head Barista/Assistant Manager

About the role

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys being in the middle of a busy service and leading from the front. You will be an important part of the day-to-day running of the café, working closely with management and helping to lead our front-of-house team.

Key responsibilities

• Leading and supporting the front-of-house team

• Managing staff and helping create a positive team culture

• Working confidently on the coffee machine during busy services

• Maintaining consistently high coffee and service standards

• Ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day service

• Welcoming customers and creating a warm, friendly experience

• Supporting staff with training and development

• Helping manage opening, closing and daily café operations

• Taking responsibility and confidently stepping up when required

• Working as part of a team while also being able to work independently

About you

• Proven experience in a busy café or hospitality environment

• Strong barista skills and confidence on the machine

• Previous experience managing or supervising staff

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• A positive attitude and genuine passion for hospitality

• The ability to stay calm, organised and focused during busy periods

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead by example

• A great work ethic and reliable nature

• Pride in what you do and a high attention to detail
