About the role
AirKeeper is a fast-growing property management company specialising in short-term rentals, furnished accommodation and long-term property management across Australia.
We are looking for a motivated and people-focused individual to join our Melbourne team on a casual basis, approximately 2–3 days per week.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in building a career in real estate, property management, short-term rentals or hospitality.
The role is genuinely hybrid , combining elements of traditional property management with the fast-paced, guest-focused environment of short-term accommodation.
For the right person, there is the opportunity to increase days over time and potentially progress into a full-time role as the portfolio grows.
About the RoleYou will work closely with our Melbourne property management team and assist with a portfolio of both short-term and long-term rental properties.
Your week may include a mix of office-based work, property visits and work around Melbourne.
Responsibilities may include:
Assisting Property Managers with the day-to-day management of a portfolio
Helping coordinate maintenance, cleaners, contractors and suppliers
Conducting or assisting with property inspections
Supporting long-term rental inspections and open homes
Assisting with property onboarding and preparing new properties for guests or tenants
Communicating with property guests, tenants and contractors
Checking property presentation and ensuring our service standards are maintained
Helping resolve issues quickly in a fast-paced environment
General property management and administration support
Short-term property management sits between real estate and hospitality.
You are not simply managing a property — you are also managing guest experiences, bookings, maintenance, property presentation and owner relationships.
It is a dynamic environment and a great opportunity for someone who enjoys:
Real estate
Travel and hospitality
Working with people
Problem-solving
Being out of the office
Working in a fast-moving environment where every day can be different
We are looking for someone who is:
Interested in developing a long-term career in real estate or property management
Friendly, confident and comfortable dealing with different people
Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Practical and solutions-focused
Reliable and able to work independently when required
Comfortable working both from the office and on the road
Passionate about property, travel and hospitality
Previous experience in real estate, property management, short-term rentals or hospitality would be highly regarded, but we are also open to someone with the right attitude who is looking to develop their career.
Essential RequirementsCurrent driver's licence
Access to a reliable vehicle
Ability to travel around Melbourne for property visits, inspections and open homes
Availability approximately 2–3 days per week
Flexibility around working days where operationally required
A Victorian real estate qualification or Agent's Representative Certificate would be highly regarded, or you must be willing to obtain the required qualification if necessary.
Location & Working ArrangementOur Melbourne office is located in North Melbourne.
The role will involve a combination of:
Working from our North Melbourne office
Visiting properties across Melbourne
Attending inspections and open homes
Some flexibility to work remotely depending on the day's responsibilities
This is not a purely office-based position, so you should enjoy being out and about and interacting with people.
Career DevelopmentThis position is designed to grow with the right person.
Initially, the role will be approximately 2–3 days per week, supporting the existing team and learning both short-term and long-term property management.
As the portfolio grows, there may be opportunities to:
Increase your working days
Take greater responsibility for your own portfolio
Develop into a Property Manager role
Move into a permanent full-time position
We are looking for someone who wants more than just a casual job — ideally someone who sees this as the beginning of a career in property management.
What We OfferExposure to both short-term and long-term property management
A varied role combining real estate and hospitality
Training and support from an experienced national team
Flexible casual working arrangement
Real career progression opportunities
The opportunity to work with a growing portfolio and business
A modern, entrepreneurial and fast-paced working environment
If you are passionate about property, enjoy working with people and are interested in building a career in the growing short-term rental industry, we would love to hear from you.
Please apply with your CV and a short cover letter explaining:
Why you are interested in property management and short-term rentals;
Any relevant real estate, hospitality or customer service experience;
Your availability each week;
Whether you hold a driver's licence and have access to a vehicle; and
Whether you currently hold a Victorian real estate qualification.
