Clinical Facilitator (Practice Development Nurse)

Provide clinical leadership in developing and maintaining clinical excellence across the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, High Dependency Unit, and Special Care Nursery within the Newborn Care Unit.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Facilitator's (Practice Development Nurse) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

 You will

• Demonstrated advanced-level neonatal nursing knowledge and problem-solving skills
• Leads and facilitates practice development initiatives across the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, High Dependency Unit, and Special Care Nursery
• Proficiency in designing and delivering education through multiple modalities
• Understands and consistently models the principles of family-centred care in daily clinical practice

 About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

 Salary

• Permanent Part Time (up to 70 hrs per fortnight)
• Base salary ranging from $57.76- $61.85 per hour

 The Newborn Care Unit (NCU) at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) is part of Women, Newborn and Children's Health (WNCH) and is comprised of a 14-cot Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a 24-cot Special Care Nursery (SCN) with an 8-cot High Dependency Unit (HDU). Babies requiring cardiac surgery or with complex surgical conditions are managed at Mater Mother's or Queensland Children's Hospital. Neonatal Retrieval Emergency Service Southern Queensland (NeoRESQ) based at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in Brisbane coordinate and provide a neonatal emergency retrieval service.
