About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Vineyard Worker / Machinery Operator to join our team in McLaren Vale. This is a hands-on role combining vineyard machinery operation with a wide range of vineyard maintenance, labouring and harvest activities throughout the year.
Working as part of a small, dedicated team, you'll help maintain our vineyards to a high standard while operating modern vineyard equipment safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Operate vineyard tractors and machinery for seasonal operations including slashing, herbicide spraying, fungicide spraying, trimming and barrel pruning.
Carry out general vineyard maintenance and labouring duties.
Repair and maintain irrigation systems, including locating and repairing leaks.
Install and maintain vineyard infrastructure, including post knocking, trellis construction and repairs, wire maintenance and redevelopment projects.
Assist with all aspects of harvest operations, including machinery operation, forklift operation and other harvest-related duties as required.
Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of machinery and equipment.
Work safely and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of vineyard presentation.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Experience operating tractors and/or agricultural machinery.
A current forklift licence.
A current driver's licence (essential).
A practical, hands-on approach with good mechanical aptitude.
Previous experience working in vineyards, agriculture or horticulture is desirable.
ChemCert accreditation is desirable but not essential.
The ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
A strong work ethic, attention to detail and willingness to undertake a variety of physical outdoor tasks.
Seasonal Requirements
Harvest is our busiest time of year, and the successful applicant will be required to work extended hours during the vintage period, including evening and night shifts as required. Flexibility during harvest is essential to ensure fruit is processed efficiently and at optimum quality.
