Job description:

Your impact

As a Crushing Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the performance, reliability and optimisation of crushing operations across Newmont's Boddington Gold Mine.

Reporting to the Supervisor Mechanical, you will provide technical expertise and operational support across crushing circuits, working closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to maximise equipment performance, plant reliability and operational efficiency.

Through data analysis, performance monitoring, inspections, repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives, you will contribute to the optimisation of crushing processes and ensure safe, sustainable, and reliable plant performance.

Profile description:

As part of our team you will

• Monitor and assess crushing equipment performance and operational efficiency
• Provide technical support and recommendations to optimise crushing operations
• Analyse operational data to identify improvement opportunities and performance trends
• Investigate equipment issues and support troubleshooting activities
• Support hydraulic system diagnostics and fault finding activities
• Conduct regular inspections, audits and assessments of crushing plant assets
• Liaise closely with maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and asset improvements
• Develop and implement initiatives to improve plant reliability and performance
• Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for crushing plant personnel
• Identify operational risks, implement mitigation measures and monitor effectiveness
• Promote compliance with site safety standards, procedures and critical controls
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable business outcomes

Prerequisites for your success in the role

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or relevant mechanical discipline
• Demonstrated experience in crushing plant operations, maintenance or technical support
• Strong understanding of crushing equipment, systems and processes
• Experience monitoring equipment performance and identifying reliability improvements
• Proven troubleshooting and fault-finding capability, including hydraulic systems
• Experience analysing operational or maintenance data to support decision-making
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Current C Class Driver's Licence

Highly regarded:

• Experience within mining, mineral processing or heavy industrial environments
• Experience with crushers, screens, conveyors and associated plant equipment
• Exposure to condition monitoring and reliability improvement methodologies
• Supervisor, training or mentoring experience
• Experience using SAP or other CMMS platforms

This role is based at Boddington Gold Mine and may be offered on a range of roster options including 8:6 / 7:7, 8/6 or 5:2 / 4:3, depending on operational requirements and the successful candidate.

Working closely with Operations, Maintenance and Reliability teams, you will provide specialist technical support to one of Australia's largest gold processing operations, helping drive safe, reliable and efficient crushing performance.

Village accommodation is available for the successful candidate, with the option to live locally and commute daily under a Drive In / Drive Out (DIDO) arrangement.
