Demolition Supervisor / Leading Hand

Gold Coast | Full-Time Opportunity | 4-Day Working Week

Bowers Reno Demo is a Gold Coast-based family demolition business specialising in residential and commercial demolition, strip-outs, defits and asbestos removal throughout South East Queensland.

We are looking for an experienced Demolition Leading Hand to join our team.

This is a hands-on role working directly alongside the business owner and our demolition crew. We are looking for someone who is confident on the tools, understands how a demolition site operates and can naturally step up to help lead the team and keep works moving safely and efficiently. This is not a position where you will simply stand back and supervise. You will be working alongside the crew and leading by example.

Our standard working week is Monday to Thursday, with longer working days allowing us to generally operate on a four-day week. There will also be occasional Friday, weekend and after-hours work depending on project requirements.

We also undertake projects throughout regional Queensland, so there will be work away from home from time to time. Applicants must be comfortable travelling and staying away when required.

The Role

• Working hands-on with the demolition crew across residential and commercial projects
• Taking the lead on day-to-day site activities when required
• Helping organise the crew and allocate daily tasks
• Keeping works progressing safely and efficiently
• Hand demolition, strip-outs, defits, concrete demolition and general demolition works
• Using demolition tools, equipment and machinery
• Working around excavators, demolition robots, access equipment and other plant
• Helping less experienced team members and setting a good standard on site
• Communicating with the business owner, builders, site supervisors and other trades
• Ensuring site safety procedures, SWMS and project requirements are followed
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area

What We’re Looking For

• Previous demolition experience is highly preferred, although applicants with strong construction experience will also be considered
• Experience as a Leading Hand or someone who is ready to step into a Leading Hand position
• Confident using hand tools, power tools and demolition equipment
• Good understanding of how a construction or demolition site operates
• Able to take direction but also confident making decisions and taking initiative when required
• Physically fit and capable of demanding manual work
• Reliable, punctual and someone the team can depend on
• Strong work ethic and willingness to lead by example
• Able to communicate professionally with builders, clients, other trades and our team
• White Card essential
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence essential
• Working at Heights, EWP, forklift, asbestos removal and other relevant construction tickets will be highly regarded.
• Applicants must have full Australian working rights. Working Holiday Visa applicants will not be considered for this position.

Bowers Reno Demo is a family-owned and operated demolition business based on the Gold Coast, servicing South East Queensland and regional areas.

We undertake a wide range of residential and commercial demolition projects, including internal strip-outs, commercial defits, concrete demolition, flooring removal, asbestos removal and specialised demolition works.

We are a hands-on team and expect everyone, including our supervisors, to be willing to get involved in the physical work required to get the job done.
