About the role
Spanline Home Additions Mackay | Mackay, QLD
$120,000–$160,000 OTE + super | Uncapped earning potential
Spanline Home Additions Mackay is already a strong-performing local business, and we're looking for an exceptional Design Advisor to help us take it to the next level.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than a fixed salary and sees the value in being directly rewarded for the results they achieve.
You'll work with homeowners to turn their ideas into patios, carports and outdoor living projects — managing the customer relationship from the initial enquiry and design process right through to completion.
You'll be backed by an established Australian brand, a successful local business, proven products and systems, ongoing training, an experienced team and, importantly, a strong pipeline of incoming customer enquiries.
This is not a cold-calling role.
We provide the opportunity. Your ability to develop the right solution, build trust with customers and convert those opportunities into projects will determine how far you can take the role.
The earning potential is uncapped.
This is a permanent employee position combining a competitive base salary with a strong, uncapped performance-based commission structure.
A successful Design Advisor should be targeting $120,000–$160,000+ in total annual earnings, with exceptional performers having the opportunity to earn considerably more.
Spanline Mackay already has an established customer enquiry pipeline and we're investing in further growth into currently under-serviced areas.
We're not looking for someone simply to maintain what we already have.
We're looking for someone who wants to help grow it.
You'll have considerable autonomy to manage your customers and opportunities, while being supported by our administration, approvals and construction team to turn the projects you sell into completed builds.
Manage allocated customer enquiries from initial contact through to project completion.
Meet customers at their homes to understand their needs, budget and vision.
Measure and assess sites and develop suitable patio, carport and outdoor living solutions.
Prepare preliminary designs, accurate quotations, proposals and sales documentation using Spanline systems and software.
Present design and product options clearly and help customers determine the right solution for their home.
Proactively follow up quotations and manage opportunities through the sales pipeline.
Convert qualified opportunities into signed building contracts.
Coordinate customer selections and information required to progress sold projects.
Maintain regular communication with customers throughout approvals, ordering, scheduling and construction.
Work closely with our administration and construction teams to ensure projects are accurately handed over and continue progressing.
Attend site where required and remain involved in the customer relationship through to completion.
Identify and escalate technical, contractual or construction matters to the appropriate team member.
Maintain accurate customer, quotation and project records.
Develop a strong understanding of Spanline products, systems, pricing, engineering limitations and relevant building requirements.
Contribute to the overall growth, performance and reputation of Spanline Mackay.
Previous patio or home-improvement experience would be advantageous, but it isn't essential.
We're looking primarily for the right combination of sales ability, practical aptitude, professionalism and drive.
You'll ideally be:
An accomplished salesperson or someone with demonstrated success in a customer-facing commercial role.
Confident and personable, with the ability to build genuine rapport with customers.
A strong communicator who listens before recommending a solution.
Practical and technically minded, with good spatial awareness.
Comfortable measuring sites, working with dimensions and learning design software.
Commercially minded and motivated by achieving results.
Ambitious and attracted to a role where increased performance translates directly into increased earnings.
Organised and capable of managing multiple customers and projects at different stages.
Comfortable working independently while also contributing to a broader team.
Accountable for your commitments and willing to take ownership of customer outcomes.
Professional and trustworthy when representing our business in customers' homes.
Experience in sales, construction, building products, sheds, kitchens, pools, automotive, real estate, home improvement or other consultative sales environments would transfer well into this role.
A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle will be required. Business travel will be reimbursed/provided for separately from your remuneration.
We're not starting from scratch.
Spanline Mackay is an established, successful local business with a strong flow of customer enquiries and significant ambitions for further growth.
We're now investing in additional sales capacity so that we can better service our existing Mackay market while expanding further into the Whitsundays.
You'll receive:
Realistic OTE of $120,000–$160,000+ for strong performers.
Uncapped performance-based earning potential.
The security and benefits of permanent employment.
A strong existing pipeline of incoming customer enquiries.
No requirement to spend your days generating business through cold calling.
An established and recognised Australian brand.
Proven Australian-made products and systems.
Training in Spanline products, design systems and processes.
Considerable autonomy to manage your customers and opportunities.
Support from an experienced local administration and construction team.
The opportunity to play an important role in expanding Spanline throughout Mackay and the Whitsundays.
The satisfaction of seeing the projects you sell progress from an idea to a completed addition to someone's home.
For more than 40 years, Spanline has been helping Australian families create better outdoor living spaces.
Spanline Home Additions Mackay is locally owned and operated, designing and constructing patios, carports and outdoor living solutions throughout Mackay, Sarina, the Pioneer Valley and increasingly the Whitsundays.
We're building a team of capable people who have clearly defined responsibilities, the autonomy to perform their roles well and a shared interest in the success of our customers and the business.
You may already be an accomplished salesperson looking for an opportunity where your earning potential isn't constrained by a fixed salary.
Or you may be successful in another industry and recognise that your combination of people skills, practical ability and commercial drive would transfer well into this role.
Either way, if you're good with people, driven by results and motivated by the opportunity to build an exceptional income based on your own performance, we'd like to hear from you.
Apply through SEEK with your resume and a brief introduction telling us why you think you'd make a great Design Advisor.
