General Manager - Risk Management

About the role

SkyCity Adelaide is delivering a significant, multi-year transformation of its risk and compliance environment, spanning financial crime, gambling harm minimisation and enterprise risk. This role leads the Risk and Assurance team.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the Risk Management Framework end to end - designing, embedding and continuously improving it so that it is effective, well understood and fit for a highly regulated environment. You will be a trusted advisor to the executive, bringing risk into decisions early, and maturing our Three Levels of Accountability model so that risk ownership and accountability sit where they should.

Key responsibilities

• Own and mature an enterprise-wide Risk Management Framework that withstands regulatory and Board scrutiny
• Lead the uplift of risk practices and control effectiveness across the business
• Strengthen the Three Levels of Accountability model, with clearly defined and embedded risk ownership
• Advise the Managing Director, executive and Board on the risks most material to the business
• Build a resilient, mature risk culture that is embedded in how the business operates day to day
• Provide assurance over the effectiveness of the control environment

About you

• Executive level experience leading risk in complex, highly regulated environments, with a track record of delivering large-scale risk transformation - not framework design alone
• Deep expertise in risk frameworks, governance models and assurance practices
• The credibility and communication style to influence at Managing Director, Board and frontline levels
• Able to operate both strategically and hands-on as the situation requires
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional risk/governance certifications
• Experience in gaming, financial services or another closely regulated sector is highly regarded
• Able to obtain and maintain the regulatory approvals and probity clearances the role requires
