Business Development Manager

NORTHSIX is partnering with an established distribution business with a growing presence in the Mackay region. This is a genuine opportunity to step into a Business Development Manager role, working closely within a small, close-knit depot team.
 
Role Summary 
 
You will work alongside the Sales Manager to build and execute a sales plan, growing new business and managing an existing customer portfolio. 

This position will be a part of a tight depot team of 2 drivers and 1 Depot Supervisor. Given the size of the team, this suits someone who wants visibility, autonomy and a direct hand in the business's growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Sales Manager to develop and execute a strategic sales plan for new business
• Generate new business opportunities and drive sales growth
• Account manage your customer portfolio, ensuring premium service delivery
• Liaise with head office to maintain consistent, high-quality customer service
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline
• Identify and capture new opportunities within existing customer accounts
• Contribute innovative ideas to sales planning and forecasting

• Minimum 2 years' sales experience: this is a great next step for someone ready to move into a BDM-style role, with training provided for the right person
• Confident communicator, comfortable building relationships and managing a portfolio
• A proactive approach to safety
• Comfortable working autonomously within a small, close team environment
• Solution-selling experience, ideally within fuel, lubricants or a similar product-based sales environment, is an advantage but not essential
