About the role
At the Canberra Irish Club, we’re passionate about all things Irish. We pride ourselves on creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere while delivering traditional hospitality, wholesome food, quality beverages, and vibrant live music.
We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and hands-on Duty Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership in a customer-focused environment and a genuine passion for service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Club to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Supervise service staff to maintain high standards of customer care.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles.
Manage daily reconciliations and maintain accurate records.
Coordinate the setup and delivery of functions, entertainment, and events.
Work closely with the General Manager to support Club operations and initiatives.
A positive, can-do attitude and a passion for hospitality.
Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and support.
Integrity and a strong work ethic.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven time management and multitasking abilities.
A hands-on management style with a lead-by-example approach.
Knowledge of Club industry regulations and compliance (highly desirable).
Current RSA & RCG certificates (essential).
First Aid and Gaming Compliance Officer (GCO) certificates (preferred).
This role includes a mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts.
Club trading hours: 11:30 AM – 11:30 PM.
