DUTY MANAGER

At the Canberra Irish Club, we’re passionate about all things Irish. We pride ourselves on creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere while delivering traditional hospitality, wholesome food, quality beverages, and vibrant live music.

We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and hands-on Duty Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership in a customer-focused environment and a genuine passion for service excellence.

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Club to ensure smooth and efficient service.

• Supervise service staff to maintain high standards of customer care.

• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles.

• Manage daily reconciliations and maintain accurate records.

• Coordinate the setup and delivery of functions, entertainment, and events.

• Work closely with the General Manager to support Club operations and initiatives.

• A positive, can-do attitude and a passion for hospitality.

• Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and support.

• Integrity and a strong work ethic.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proven time management and multitasking abilities.

• A hands-on management style with a lead-by-example approach.

• Knowledge of Club industry regulations and compliance (highly desirable).

• Current RSA & RCG certificates (essential).

• First Aid and Gaming Compliance Officer (GCO) certificates (preferred).

• This role includes a mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts.

• Club trading hours: 11:30 AM – 11:30 PM.
