Venue Coordinator

Mount Barker District Council is seeking an organised, energetic and customer-focused Venue Coordinator to help people enjoy Council-controlled venues and facilities at their best. As the first point of contact for venue hire, you will guide hirers from their initial enquiry through to a successful booking, coordinating activities with care and creating a positive, seamless experience for community groups, customers and colleagues.

This varied role brings together bookings, customer service, venue coordination and administration. You will keep online data and booking platforms accurate and working to their full potential, collaborate across teams, support budget administration, and process purchase orders and invoices. Your ability to plan ahead, solve problems and make sound decisions will help ensure competing priorities are managed efficiently, even when the pace is high.

You will bring strong venue coordination experience, or experience in a closely related role, together with excellent time management and organisational capability. A confident and professional communicator, you will build positive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and contribute readily to team support and collaboration across the organisation.

You will also be digitally capable, with sound skills in Microsoft Office and experience using records management applications. We are looking for someone who combines analytical thinking with initiative, creativity and good judgement, someone who shows initiative to brings ideas to improve the way we work, explores practical new solutions and brings the drive, enthusiasm and personal approach needed to foster trust, respect and cooperation.
