About the role
The Company
China Construction Bank Corporation (CCB) is one of the largest banking corporations in China and is the 2nd largest bank in the world by asset size. With dominant presence already established in China, CCB is proactively expanding onto overseas markets and currently has over 30 offices operating outside China. CCB Sydney branch was firstly established as a representative office in November 2007 prior to be authorized by APRA in October 2010 to carry out wholesale banking businesses in Australia. Currently CCB operates its businesses in Australia primarily through Sydney branch, which also supports marketing activities at other sub-branches in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
China Construction Bank Sydney Branch is seeking a motivated and experienced Dealer / Senior Dealer to join the Treasury Department.
The successful candidate will have solid knowledge of the Australian and Greater China (Mainland China and Hong Kong SAR) financial markets, with practical experience in one or more of the following areas: bond investment, foreign exchange and derivatives, or liquidity management.
1. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for one or more of the following business:
1) Foreign Exchange & Derivatives
• Execute FX trading activities and manage the Branch's foreign exchange position in accordance with approved risk limits and internal policies.
• Execute client FX transactions and provide pricing and market support to business units.
• Managed client relationships and delivered FX products, market insights, and risk management solutions to meet clients' foreign exchange needs.
• Monitor FX market developments and manage market risks associated with trading activities.
2) Bond Investment
• Manage the Branch's bond and fixed income investment portfolio, including investment execution, monitoring, and portfolio management.
• Support debt capital market activities, including ECD/ECP and FTU Bond/CD issuance where required.
3) Liquidity and Funding Management
• Manage the Branch's daily liquidity position, funding requirements, and money market activities to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal liquidity requirements.
• Assist in developing and expanding the Branch's funding channels and enhancing its liquidity management capabilities.
• Support funding programmes and other treasury funding initiatives as required.
In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Monitor financial markets and analyse economic conditions, regulatory developments, and market trends to identify trading and investment opportunities.
• Prepare treasury, management, regulatory, and ALCO reports and supporting documentation, including reports in Chinese where required.
• Assist in developing and diversifying the Branch's funding channels, enhancing liquidity management capabilities, and maintaining treasury policies and procedures.
• Participate in system implementation, testing, and process improvement initiatives.
• Perform other treasury-related duties as assigned.
2. Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
• At least three years' relevant experience in bond investment, FX trading, or liquidity management, preferably gained in a commercial bank or other financial institution.
• Sound understanding of financial markets, treasury products, and risk management.
• Familiarity with the Australian financial market and regulatory environment. Knowledge of Mainland China and Hong Kong financial markets will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin), with the ability to prepare business reports and communicate effectively in Chinese.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
