Waikiki Private Hospital is looking for Patient Support Assistants (PSAs) to join our Support Services team, with a particular need for team members who can provide regular weekend availability.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining patient support, housekeeping and catering assistant duties. You will be fully trained in Waikiki Private Hospital's processes and supported to become competent across the different areas of the role.
About the RoleAs a Patient Support Assistant, no two shifts are necessarily the same.
Our PSAs work across Support Services and play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment, while also supporting the delivery of food and beverage services to our patients.
Depending on operational requirements, your shift may include both housekeeping and catering responsibilities, so flexibility and a willingness to learn all aspects of the role are essential.
Your responsibilities may include:Cleaning patient rooms, bathrooms, ward areas and hospital facilities

Changing linen and making beds
Maintaining high standards of infection prevention, hygiene and environmental cleaning

Cleaning and maintaining ward pantry and food service areas
Replenishing supplies and supporting general ward operations
Completing required cleaning schedules and documentation
Working collaboratively with nursing, catering and other hospital teams
Our Support Services operate across seven days per week, and we are specifically recruiting candidates who can provide reliable weekend coverage.
Shifts are rostered between 7:00am and 7:30pm, and applicants must:
Be available for both early and late shifts
Be available to work at least two weekends per month (this does not mean you will be rostered for two weekends per month - but weekend work will be required)
Have flexibility to work across weekdays and weekends according to operational requirements
Be willing to assist with additional shifts and leave coverage where available
Please consider these availability requirements carefully before applying.
What We're Looking ForExperience is valuable, but equally important to us is finding people who are reliable, adaptable and genuinely willing to learn.
You will be a great fit if you:
Have experience in cleaning, housekeeping, hospitality, catering, aged care, healthcare or a similar service environment
Are willing to be fully trained across both housekeeping and catering functions
Take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
Are comfortable working in a busy healthcare environment
Can follow processes, food safety requirements and infection control procedures
Are organised and able to prioritise your workload
Can work independently while also contributing positively to a team
Communicate respectfully and professionally
Have a strong work ethic and understand the importance of reliability in a hospital environment
Are eager to learn and receptive to training and feedback
Previous experience within a hospital or healthcare environment is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
Essential RequirementsSuccessful candidates will be required to:
Hold Australian working rights
Hold, or be willing to obtain, a current National Police Clearance
Hold, or be willing to obtain, a Working with Children Check
Complete required hospital training and competency assessments
Meet applicable infection prevention, workplace health and safety and food safety requirements

Free onsite parking
Comprehensive training across Waikiki Private Hospital processes
Develop skills across both healthcare housekeeping and catering
