Job description: 

The Production & Trials Nursery Hand works with the trials and plant production teams at Grandiflora Nurseries. They assist the production team in all aspects of cut flower roses. 

Additionally, the Production & Trials Nursery Hand will be required as part of the plant production team to plant and maintain rose trials, as well as harvesting and maintenance of cut rose varieties in certain production areas of the glasshouse. 

Job responsibilities:  

• Assisting in the harvest and maintaining production varieties in several Glasshouse’s. 

• Assist in the planting and maintenance of the plant breeding parents and trials. 

• Help prepare the young plants for planting. 

Requirements: 

    Horticultural Certificate III or relevant industry experience. 

    Leadership skills. 

    Friendly disposition.  

    Able to work independently or as part of a team. 

    Focused with an eye for detail. 

    Organisational skills. 

    Able to work in a controlled environment glass house. 

    Ability to do occasional Saturday morning work. 

Reports to: Propagation, Breeding Trials and Intellectual Property Manager.
