Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. Be the vital connection that keeps Nepean Hospital communicating, informed and responsive 24 hours a day. As a Switchboard Operator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering professional, customer-focused telephony and administrative support services that contribute to the efficient and safe operation of the hospital.
In this temporary part-time position, you will manage incoming calls, emergency communications, paging services, patient enquiries and hospital information requests. You will maintain accurate patient movement and operational records, support after-hours services, and facilitate effective communication between clinical, non-clinical and external stakeholders, while ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures. As a key member of the team, you will help coordinate critical communication across the hospital and community. The successful applicant will be required to work a 24/7 rotating roster, including morning, day, afternoon, night, weekend and public holiday shifts.
