Electronic Security Systems Designer / Programmer

About the Role…
As an Electronic Security Technician/Programmer, you will be responsible for the design, programming, installation support, and commissioning of integrated electronic security systems. This includes access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection solutions, ensuring systems are delivered to a high standard and meet client requirements.

Your role will involve system configuration, testing, fault diagnosis, and ongoing support in line with project specifications and service agreements. You will work closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery, reliability, and performance of security systems across a range of environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electronic security system solutions, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems
• Program and configure systems such as Gallagher, Milestone, Integriti (and similar platforms)
• Produce detailed design documentation and drawings to support project delivery
• Commission and test systems to ensure performance, compliance, and client requirements are met
• Work collaboratively with project managers, technicians, and other stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes
• Provide technical support during installation and handover phases

About You…
To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Proven experience in electronic security system design and programming
• Strong knowledge of leading platforms (Gallagher, Milestone, Integriti preferred)
• Ability to interpret specifications and produce accurate technical drawings
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability

Skills & Experience:

• Strong knowledge of electronic security systems including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection
• Experience with leading platforms such as Gallagher, Milestone, Integriti (or similar systems)
• Excellent fault finding, diagnostics, and system troubleshooting skills across integrated security environments
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and security system designs
• Experience in system commissioning, configuration, and testing
• Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards (e.g. AS/NZS 2201, AS/NZS 3000 where applicable)
• Excellent customer communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within project teams
• High attention to detail with strong organisational and documentation skills
• Experience working in critical environments (e.g. data centres, infrastructure, or high-security sites) highly regarded
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with security or service management systems
• Willingness to work outside normal hours and participate in on-call support when required
• Current QLD Manual Open Driver’s Licence
