The Opportunity:

Holcim is seeking a Logistics Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day transport operations, fleet allocations and logistics coordination in our Sydney Office based at Bella Vista. This key role involves leading a team of Fleet Allocators and Customer Service Officers while also heavily involving you in the day-to-day operations and allocations of our tipper fleet which exceeds 250 truck movements daily. You will be instrumental in advising and providing feedback on transport operational issues to the Regional Logistics Manager to ensure we maintain a safe system of work while delivering safe, efficient and cost-effective transport operations.

You will also use your leadership skills and experience to build the team - mentoring and upskilling to ensure a high level of competency and flexibility within the department.

Further and detailed accountabilities includes:

• Manage daily fleet allocations, transport scheduling and fleet utilisation to achieve the best cost outcome while meeting on-time and in-full delivery targets.
• Actively participate in weekly planning meetings with the Regional Logistics Manager, Sales Team and Quarries to ensure fleet utilisation meets both key stakeholder and customer expectations.
• Utilise fatigue management knowledge to ensure scheduled deliveries comply with relevant CoR legislation.
• Ensure your team remains compliant with relevant legislation and company policies.
• Provide daily and weekly reporting to management on key KPI's.
• Assist in identifying Operational Improvements and ensure any resulting programs are implemented, monitored and maintained.
• Identify areas of improvement within the team and take a lead role in implementing changes.
• Manage staff rosters and approve leave and wages.

About you:

You have experience in a team leader role, including transport allocations and scheduling, preferably within the construction materials industry. Your experience should ideally include managing contracted fleets and possess solid, practical skills and knowledge to help develop fleet operational performance and capability.
As a confident front-line leader with hands-on transport operations experience in fleet allocations, scheduling and coordination you lead by example while promoting a zero-harm safety culture with further requirements to include:

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent team building skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• A well-developed process improvement focus.
• Working knowledge of relevant CoR legislation, transport rules and regulations.
• Solid knowledge of IT systems (SAP and Google Suite preferred but not mandatory).
• Ability to analise data and generate spreadsheets.
