Proposals Manager APAC

Wood is recruiting for a Proposals Manager to service the Australian and South East Asian (APAC) region.  We are looking for a driven individual with strong commercial knowledge of the region and experience within the project management and proposals environment.   The role is based in Perth and reports to the Head of Proposals. 

You will have overall responsibility for the preparation and production of business-critical winning work documentation including proposals, qualifications, requests for information and expressions of interest.   You will embrace working collaboratively with wider internal stakeholders, maximising opportunities for cross selling and demonstrating exceptional emotional intelligence and collaborative engagement skills across the greater global sales network.  Working closely with the Business Development community you will have the ability to prioritise and manage multiple scheduling and resourcing constraints and conflicts.

You will hold an autonomous role working as part of the wider Consulting proposals function and within the framework outlined by functional leadership.  You will also:

• Manage the development of expressions of interest, pre-qualifications, and proposal responses as required following the Identify, Acquire and Deliver (IAD) Process
• Working with the Pursuit Teams, driving the development of the proposal win strategy and value proposition
• Assist the Study Manager / Pursuit Leader in preparation of the technical content including project execution methodology and supporting documentation
• Proof reading and copy editing to ensure continuity and compliance with legal, technical, and marketing specifications for format, grammar, style, punctuation and spelling
• Facilitate various strategy and review sessions coordinating feedback received into the proposal response
• Manage the Risk Management processes and support the Tender Governance Process (TGP) to prepare and submit proposals
• Identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities to improve effectiveness of the team
• Regular engagement with management in establishing and managing the proposal strategy and IAD process
• Assist Business Development team members with pre-bid activities such as presentations, pre-qualification, and expressions of interest
• Participate in the development of the win strategy and themes for new business proposals
• Manage and lead the IAD process to ensure strategy alignment and client requirements are met
• Write and edit proposals as required and coach writers on correct structure and content
• Identify and mitigate risk and opportunities for new business proposals and the subsequent contract execution
• Identify graphics requirements and opportunities and coordinate their development
• Coordinate the clarification, award and handover to delivery process

• Engineering degree or equivalent / similar
• Ideally a member of a professional institute
• Demonstrates sufficient technical understanding across key consulting sectors to interpret and communicate technical issues with both internal and external stakeholders
• The commitment to identify, analyse and propose solutions to problems in a constructive and positive manner
• Ability to review proposal documents and ensure the highest quality responses are included within the overall proposal response with key, consistent, messages used throughout
• Willing to challenge norms and driven to enhance quality and presentation of input received from authors in the bid team
• Effective communication skills particularly in writing clearly and concisely with impact and meaning
• Able to effectively summarise messages and key aspects of a strategy when relaying information / guidance to a team
• Strong organisational and planning skills, able to drive a team through the proposals process whilst maintaining the schedule together with strong facilitation skills, able to control a room for group sessions
