Step into the world of Strategy Regulation and Legal, where your work is more than just a job.

By joining the talent register, you’ll register your interest online for the Policy Officer, Strategy Officer, and Senior Policy Officer roles, and become part of our talent pool. This Talent Register is seeking to establish a register of  applicants for contract opportunities available for up to twelve months.

Policy Officer - Level 5, contributes to Policy formulation and advice and undertakes research and analysis in relation to the development of Strategies and Policies which build safe, strong, secure and inclusive Communities.

Strategy Officer – Level 5, this position has the Delegated Authority and responsibility to plan and control projects and activities required to deliver program and Department outcomes.

Senior Policy Officer – Level 6, contributes to high level policy formulation and the provision of advice and undertakes research and analysis in relation to the development of strategies and policies which build safe, strong, secure and inclusive communities.

How the Talent Register works

The Talent Register may be used to identify potential applicants for:

• backfilling opportunities of up to 12 months, including acting opportunities, secondments, temporary backfill arrangements and short-term fixed-term appointments.
• fixed-term opportunities & permanent vacancies using Limited Search as the recruitment method.

While this is not an application for a specific role, you may be considered for suitable opportunities as they arise.

Backfilling Opportunities (12 Months or Less)

By joining the Talent Register, you consent to being considered for temporary opportunities of up to 12 months.

If your skills and experience are suited to an opportunity:

• We may contact you about it
• We may review your suitability
• You may be offered the opportunity, depending on the outcome and business needs.

Limited Search Permanent and Fixed-Term Opportunities

A Talent Register may be used to identify potential applicants for permanent and fixed-term opportunities using Limited search recruitment methods.

If a Talent Register is used for this purpose, you may be contacted to confirm your interest and to obtain your consent to be considered as an applicant. Only people who provide consent will progress in the Limited Search recruitment process.

Register duration

This register will remain active for a 6 months duration in total.

After this time:

• the register will be closed and;
• you will need to submit a new application if you wish to remain on the new register

• Vacancies may still be filled through other recruitment methods, such as advertising or appointment from recruitment pools.
• The Department of Communities will decide the most appropriate recruitment approach for each vacancy.
