About the role
$90,000–$110,000 (depending on experience)
CHATS (Children’s Health and Therapy Services) isn’t your traditional paediatric therapy clinic.
We’re known for unique, therapy-informed services and a pathways-based model that supports children, teens and young adults (6 months–25 years) to build real-world skills for participation, confidence and independence.
If you’re a Speech Pathologist with at least 1 year of experience who wants work that’s warm, practical, neuro-affirming — and genuinely enjoyable day-to-day — you’ll fit right in.
We’re a boutique, multidisciplinary children’s therapy and health centre in Bundoora, Melbourne. We’re growing, with exciting projects across 2026 and 2027 — and we’re looking for a Speech Pathologist who wants to grow with us.
Why CHATS (Our Point Of Difference)
· Neuro-affirming, strengths-based practice (evidence-based, family-centred, difference-not-deficit)
· Multiple ways to build your career: 1:1 therapy, groups, school collaboration, program development, and optional outreach/telehealth pathways
· Career pathways that keep your work fresh: opportunities to rotate into different CHATS services and programs over time, so you can keep learning, stay motivated, and build the career you actually want
· Build long-term relationships with families: follow children and young people across their journey and see the real-world impact of your work as they move through CHATS pathways
· Excellent retention (many team members 5+ years)
· A team that communicates well and supports each other
Our Facility (New + Custom Renovation)
Purpose-built spaces to support real participation and real progress:
· Consulting suites on one side
· Education suite on the other, including:
o classroom with sensory/wet area
o art room
o indoor playground + gym
o two outdoor play areas
· We’re currently expanding our outdoor play spaces to support all age groups — combining gross motor equipment with imaginative play zones (a genuinely exciting project if you love functional, real-world therapy)
A Unique Early Years Opportunity
We’re also a registered Playgroup Victoria provider, running a weekly playgroup for children aged 18 months to 5 years — a great opportunity if you enjoy early years, play-based support, and family coaching.
The Role
You’ll provide Speech Pathology services across a paediatric caseload, with support to shape your niche (early language, school-aged language/literacy, social communication, teens, parent coaching, and school/kinder collaboration).
You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to:
· therapy-informed group programs (supported by Allied Health Assistants in groups)
· new projects and service development across 2026–2027
· optional regional/outreach and telehealth pathways (based on your interest and capacity)
Flexibility That Works In Real Life
· Flexible schedules available
· Working from home is an option (where it suits your role and caseload)
· Reception support so you can focus on clinical work
Professional Development That’s Actually Personalised
We’re committed to PD — including financial support — but more importantly, we’ll help you choose PD that matches where you want your career to go and what you want to specialise in.
Plus:
· In-house training every Wednesday
· Team connection built in: daily 1pm lunch break/catch-up
Location & Convenience
· 2 minutes from the tram
· Bus stop right outside
· 5 minutes to the Ring Road
What We’re Looking For
· Qualified Speech Pathologist (SPA registration)
· Minimum 1 year experience
· Values-led, neuro-affirming approach and strong family communication
· Collaborative, team-first mindset
