Principal Clinical Psychologist

The SALHN Mental Health Services is seeking an experienced Principal Clinical Psychologist to provide professional leadership, clinical governance and advanced

About the role: 

Reporting to the Allied Health Director – Mental Health, you will:

• Lead and coordinate high-quality psychology services across SALHN Mental Health Services.

• Provide expert clinical advice on service planning, policy, workforce and complex clinical matters.

• Develop strong collaborative relationships with clinical leads and multidisciplinary

  teams.

• Contribute to strategic allied health and psychology service development.

• Monitor clinical standards, service quality, workforce priorities and resource allocation.

• Develop and implement supervision frameworks supporting competency, quality assurance and continuous improvement.

• Provide supervision, mentorship and professional support to senior and advanced psychologists.

• Support research, education and training initiatives within the psychology profession.

About you:

• An appropriate psychology degree/equivalent and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia in Clinical Psychology.

• Demonstrated clinical leadership and experience in psychology service planning and development.

• Extensive experience working with consumers with high or complex needs.

• Strong skills in strategic consultation, clinical governance and workforce planning.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate, negotiate and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

• Experience contributing to quality improvement and evidence-based clinical practice.
