In this role, you'll:

As a leader in the Government Priorities & Precincts team in the Transport Planning Branch, you’ll be responsible for providing authoritative expertise, analysis and strategic advice on initiatives that strengthen and improve the delivery, consistency and effectiveness of development services across TfNSW (Transport for NSW). 

Working in close partnership with other teams within Transport, across government agencies and industry, you’ll lead the development, coordination and implementation of initiatives, frameworks and guidance that enhance how Transport engages with land use planning processes, manages development-related risks, and secures integrated transport outcomes. 

This permanent position is located at our Milsons Point office (or alternative regional office for regional applicants), with a statewide remit. The role is governed by our hybrid working model, which forms part of the organisation’s Flexible Working Arrangements and associated procedures. This includes a combination of required onsite attendance and approved remote working.

About you

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or relevant experience, you’ll have deep specialist knowledge to influence policies, planning instruments and development pathways, ensuring transport requirements are understood, embedded and delivered. 

You’ll have demonstrated experience in transport planning/ engineering, development assessment, and land use planning, and an understanding of operational imperatives and delivery processes combined with an understanding of relevant Planning and Transport legislation. 

You’ll have experience developing and maintaining strong collaborative and productive working relationships to meet stakeholders’ needs and government expectations and are comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where strategic thinking, problem solving, and delivery on tight deadlines is critical.

You’ll have exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complex relationships, and remove barriers to drive the desired outcome.
