About The Role

Based at BYD’s Mulgrave office in Melbourne, this role will support our Aftersales Parts Operations team by coordinating import activities, shipment movements, and logistics operations to ensure parts are delivered efficiently and on schedule.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Parts Import & Export Coordinator to join our growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with logistics, freight forwarding, or import coordination experience to further develop their skills within a fast-paced automotive environment.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

Import & Clearance CoordinationMonitor vessel schedules and track shipments from departure through to arrivalPrepare, review, and verify import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and arrival noticesLiaise with customs brokers to support timely and compliant customs clearance processesEnsure documentation accuracy and completeness before submission Transport & Container ManagementCoordinate container movements with transport providers, including container pick-up and empty container returnsConfirm collection schedules, delivery requirements, and depot arrangementsMonitor potential demurrage and detention risks and escalate issues where required Financial & Reconciliation SupportFollow up outstanding freight, customs clearance, and transport-related invoicesSupport invoice checking, cost reconciliation, and resolution of discrepanciesWork closely with Finance and internal stakeholders to maintain accurate records Communication & ReportingMaintain effective communication with internal teams, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transport providersMaintain shipment tracking reports and operational recordsProvide support on ad-hoc import and logistics activities as required

Key Requirements

EssentialPrevious experience in import operations, freight forwarding, logistics coordination, or a related fieldBasic understanding of Australian import and customs clearance processesStrong attention to detail with excellent document checking skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills in English and ChineseAbility to prioritise multiple shipments and manage competing deadlines DesirableExperience working with customs brokers and Australian transport providersUnderstanding of container movements, demurrage, and detention processesExperience with invoice checking, reconciliation, or basic financial administrationFamiliarity with logistics, supply chain, or ERP systems Other InformationThis role does not require a Customs Broker LicenceAn excellent opportunity for candidates looking to build a long-term career in import operations, logistics, and supply chain within the automotive industry
