Parts Manager

VDI (Vehicle Dealers International) Australia is a proudly Australian, family‑owned business and the national distributor of Yutong buses and coaches. Yutong is the world’s largest manufacturer of buses, including the world’s number one battery electric city bus, the Yutong E12. 

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Parts Manager to join our Prestons workshop and support our expanding operations nationwide. This is a hands‑on leadership role, working closely with the Service and Workshop teams while reporting to the National Parts Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing daily parts operations while setting the standard for workmanship, safety and team performance. 

About the Role 

Key Accountabilities are but not limited to: 

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing expert parts advice, responsive support, and effective issue resolution.  
• Prepare accurate quotations, estimates, and customer orders while ensuring exceptional service delivery.  
• Manage parts inventory, stock levels, replenishment, stocktakes, and NSW reporting requirements.  
• Coordinate freight and logistics operations, including inbound sea and air freight, courier bookings, and timely order dispatch.  
• Lead and develop warehouse staff through training, performance management, task delegation, and operational oversight.  
• Drive a safe, compliant, and efficient warehouse environment, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.  
• Monitor backorders, investigate stock and service issues, analyse lost sales/VOR events, and deliver KPI and customer performance reporting.  
• Collaborate with service, sales, warranty, and workshop teams to support seamless operations and achieve national business objectives. 

Skills and experience  

• Previous experience in a similar role, with demonstrated supervisory or management responsibilities.   
• Proven ability to lead and train warehouse staff in operational processes.   
• Pentana software experience (mandatory)  
• Strong knowledge of parts for heavy-duty vehicles.   
• High attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.   
• Experience in stocktaking and inventory reporting.   
• Strong customer service focus and accountability for satisfaction outcomes.   
• Knowledge of freight and logistics processes.   
• Minimum valid C-Class Driver Licence  
• High Risk – Forklift Licence (desirable)
