About the role

In this role you will lead the Shared Service Finance Function to deliver efficient, customer-focused finances services that support teachers, schools and education support staff across the department. You will be responsible for:

• Developing and implementing business and operational plans aligned with the Department’s objectives to drive high-quality service delivery
• Leading and developing high-performing team by ensuring effective resource management, capability development and continuous improvement
• Monitoring operational performance, analysing data and implementing process, systems and service improvements
• Build a culture of accountability and exemplary customer-centred service delivery to ensure finance services consistently meeting business needs and agreed service standards.

This role directly manages the Accounts Receivable and Motor Vehicle Fleet Services activities.

About you

As a Manager in Shared Services Finance, you will have strong financial acumen and bring a strategic and forward-thinking approach to operational leadership. You will be:

• An experienced people leader with the ability to build capability, manage resources and lead seamless finance operations.
• Analytical, with the ability to draw insights from data that support informed decision-making
• Driven by continuous improvement, with ability to enhance systems, processes and service delivery
• An effective collaborator with ability to build engaging and strong relationships across the department

• Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

• Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting or a relevant discipline, and/or demonstrated successful experience in stakeholder/customer engagement in a Shared Services/Contact Centre environment. 
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
