Details: The Records Project Officer / Sentencing Officer role sits within ArchivesACT, part of the ACT Heritage Library & Territory Records Office, which provides records management, archival and mail distribution services to ACT Government directorates. The office plays a key role in supporting government accountability, business continuity and the preservation of Canberra’s historical record.
The Records Project Officer / Sentencing Officer plays an important role in delivering records management services across the ACT Government. This includes supporting creation, retrieval, storage, record sentencing and secure destruction, as well as undertaking digitisation activities such as file preparation, scanning, metadata creations and quality assurance.
The role requires the use of systems such as Content Manager, ServiceNOW and other operational tools to manage records, maintain accurate information and respond to customer requests. Officers are expected to provide high-quality customer service and work closely with a broad range of stakeholders while contributing to operational ad project-based initiatives.
This is a multi-functional role that includes a requirement to provide support to the ACT Government Mailroom and ArchivesACT where operational needs arise, ensuring continuity of services to our stakeholders.
The role operates in a manual handling environment and involves lifting, moving and handling physical records and archive boxes. A current C-class driver’s license is essential (provisional accepted).

Notes: These are temporary positions, available immediately for a period of six months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill future vacancies over the next 12 months.
