Senior Accountant

The Opportunity

Here at Pinn Deavin we are continuing to evolve and invest in our people, technology and advisory capabilities and are looking for a high-level Intermediate or Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant you will be required to work Full Time in our Sydney Shire Office, during the operating hours of Mon-Fri (8:30am-5pm).

This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant with solid public practice experience who is ready to take greater ownership of client relationships and progress beyond traditional compliance work.

You will work closely with the firm's Partners and senior team across a diverse portfolio of privately owned businesses, family groups and investors.

The role will include a combination of tax compliance, financial reporting, tax planning and business advisory, with the opportunity to become increasingly involved in structuring, management reporting and outsourced CFO-style engagements.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing and reviewing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals

• Reviewing BAS, IAS and other taxation compliance work

• Assisting with tax planning and business structuring

• Managing jobs and taking ownership of deadlines and client deliverables

• Building strong relationships and communicating directly with clients

• Working closely with Partners on more complex taxation and advisory matters

• Supporting and reviewing junior team members as your experience develops

• Identifying opportunities to add value beyond annual compliance
  

About You

We're looking for someone who is technically capable, commercially minded and genuinely interested in understanding their clients and their businesses. 

Ideally, you will have:

• Approximately 3–6+ years' experience in Australian public practice

• A degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline

• CA or CPA qualification, or be well progressed towards completion

• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting requirements

• Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across a range of entity types

• Strong Xero experience and an interest in cloud accounting and technology

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• The confidence to communicate directly with clients

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines

• A willingness to learn, take ownership and continue developing technically and commercially

Experience with SMSFs, business structuring, tax planning or business advisory would be highly regarded but is not essential.
