Team members benefit from a strong focus on professional growth, customer care, and accessible healthcare services.Role Description This part-time Optical Assistant role is based on-site at the Specsavers store in Oakleigh, VIC. The Optical Assistant supports customers throughout their visit, including welcoming them, managing appointments, and guiding them through vision screening processes. Responsibilities include assisting with frame selection, explaining lens options, and providing clear information about products and services. The role also involves preparing and maintaining the testing and dispensing areas, handling basic administrative tasks, and coordinating with optometrists to ensure smooth customer flow. The Optical Assistant promotes excellent customer service standards and helps maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.Qualifications Strong customer-facing capabilities, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills.Effective people skills, including Interpersonal Skills and clear Communication.Basic understanding or interest in Optometry and optical products, with willingness to learn technical details.Ability to work collaboratively in a retail healthcare environment and follow store procedures accurately.Attention to detail, reliable time management, and comfort with point-of-sale and scheduling systems.Previous experience in retail, healthcare, or hospitality is beneficial but not mandatory.Availability to work part time on a flexible schedule, including weekends as required.
