Payment Operations Officer

To deliver high-quality payment operations services by providing accurate, timely, and customer-focused support to staff and customers, ensuring the effective execution of payment processing functions, and maintaining strong relationships with third-party suppliers to support operational excellence and service delivery.

This opportunity is a 10- month secondment. Part-time, working 22 hours a week; we are flexible on how these hours can be worked, within our standard business hours. This role is located in Mascot or Traralgon, Victoria.

What you will be doing

• Process payment operations activities accurately and efficiently, ensuring customer needs are met within agreed service levels and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate and process Direct Entry, NPP and BPAY transactions, including payment investigations, repairs and dishonours.
• Process inbound SWIFT and RTGS payments, supporting timely settlement and execution of customer and business transactions.
• Manage card‑related services, including Visa and ATM disputes, card stock management and distribution.
• Conduct international payment investigations and liaise with third‑party providers to resolve payment enquiries and exceptions.
• Respond to customer, business and operational enquiries, providing accurate information and support.
• Maintain operational reports, user access administration and investigation records to support compliance and risk management requirements.
• Identify and contribute to process, system and service improvements that enhance operational efficiency and customer outcomes.
• Complete all required training and ensure activities are performed in accordance with Bank Australia policies, procedures and service standards.
• Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including Cuscal, Convera and Giesecke+Devrient, and perform additional duties as required.

• Working knowledge of core banking systems is desirable, with a minimum Year 12 qualification (or equivalent) required.
