About the role
About STC
Sydney Theatre Company is Australia's largest theatre company and the state theatre company of NSW. STC is a place where artists, staff and audiences come together to explore and share ideas through the power of live storytelling.
Sydney Theatre Company is looking to connect with experienced and enthusiastic set constructors and metal fabricators interested in joining our team on a casual or seasonal basis.
Across our venues, we produce a diverse range of theatre productions, each bringing its own creative and technical challenges—from detailed timber construction and large-scale scenic builds to steel fabrication, flown and automated elements and complex installation work.
We’d love to hear from set constructors, fabricators and workshop specialists with skills in one or more of the following areas:
You don’t need to have every skill listed. We’re interested in meeting people from a range of construction, fabrication, theatre, events, film and related industry backgrounds.
Opportunities may include short-term engagements, casual work, production contracts and seasonal support, depending on our program and workshop requirements.
You’ll be joining a collaborative and highly skilled team, working closely with designers, production managers, scenic artists, props makers and other theatre departments to turn ambitious designs into safe, practical and beautifully realised sets.
If you’re practical, resourceful, enjoy solving construction challenges and have an interest in creating work for the stage, we’d be very pleased to hear from you.
Please submit an Expression of Interest outlining your experience, areas of expertise, availability and examples of relevant work.
Sydney Theatre Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, marital or disability status.
To be eligible to apply for this role applicants must have Australian work rights.
