The Opportunity

Operating from within the Infrastructure Services Works Department, you will undertake maintenance and construction duties through the skilled operation of Council's plant fleet.

This role encompasses a range of duties and responsibilities which may vary as directed by Council. The key ones include:

• Providing a high standard of operating skills on civil construction and maintaining plant and other equipment;

• Communicating effectively to ensure an understanding in maintaining assigned equipment;

• Completing allocated tasks consistently within agreed time frames; and

• Be aware and adhere safe work practices to ensure all risks are minimised.

 About Yourself

Your suitability for this position will be based on your experience, application, achievement and potential in the following critical competencies as they link to the key responsibilities for this position.

Proven/Demonstrated experience in:

• Verification of Competency in the operation of various types of plant and equipment;

• Servicing minor repairs and pre-start inspection of various types of earthmoving equipment;

• Operation of various types of mechanical or electrical hand tools and equipment in Construction and Maintenance Works;

• Operating various civil construction plant to the required tolerances with due regard to the presence of services;

• Maintaining harmony within a team and fostering good working relationships with all Council employees, public and visitors;
