Turf Installer / Landscaping Labourer

Casual Position | Cairns, Far North Queensland

Tropical Lawns is seeking a reliable and hardworking Casual Turf Installer to join our growing installation team.

Working as part of a three-person turf installation crew, you will install premium turf across residential and commercial properties throughout the Cairns region. This is a hands-on outdoor role suited to someone who enjoys physical work, working as part of a team, and taking pride in delivering quality results.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Installing turf at domestic and commercial properties to company quality standards
• Preparing, laying, cutting, joining, and finishing turf professionally
• Handling turf products safely to minimise damage and wastage
• Using hand tools, turf rollers, and installation equipment
• Applying fertilisers safely in accordance with company procedures
• Maintaining clean, safe, and professional worksites
• Communicating respectfully with customers, supervisors, and team members
• Following all workplace health and safety procedures

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A current driver’s licence (essential)
• The ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work
• A strong work ethic and reliable attendance
• Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
• The ability to work well within a small team
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

Experience is not essential — we are willing to train the right person who demonstrates reliability, commitment, and the right attitude.

Requirements

• Current driver’s licence
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to complete manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving turf
• Willingness to work early starts and additional hours during busy periods
