About the Opportunity

Hardchrome Sales was founded in 1964 and has grown into the largest hard chrome plating and grinding facility for hydraulic rods, shafts, and pins in Western Australia. For 60 years, the business has built a reputation for precise workmanship and fast turnaround.

We're looking for an Apprentice Fitter & Machinist to join our Welshpool team, starting December/January. You'll get hands-on exposure across fitting, chroming, machining, welding, and honing - a broad trade skill set, working on components that keep some of WA's biggest mining and industrial operations running.

You'll also have the opportunity to rotate across our local branches during your apprenticeship, giving you exposure to different equipment, processes, and specialisations.

You won't be figuring this out on your own. Through our Elevate Apprenticeship Program, you'll have a mentor in your corner, structured learning through the Elevate Academy, and a wider community of apprentices across Questas Group going through the same journey.

Your Responsibilities

• Work alongside senior fitters and machinists on component repair, fitting, and machining
• Learn to read technical drawings and schematics
• Assist with hard chrome plating and grinding processes
• Get hands-on with welding and honing equipment

About You

• Minimum Year 10 High School Certificate
• Curious about how machines and mechanical systems work
• Comfortable with maths, and good with your hands
• Careful and precise - accuracy matters in this trade
