Dental Hygienist/ Oral Health Therapist

About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Dental Hygienist/Oral Health Therapist to join our long-standing practice in Essendon, VIC. Initially working 1 day/ week and building to 2-3 days part-time for the right person. You will play a crucial role in providing high-quality oral care and education to our valued patients.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting comprehensive oral health assessments and developing personalised treatment plans and treatment coordinating

• Performing a range of preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene treatments, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride applications

• Educating patients on effective oral hygiene practices and promoting good dental health

• Collaborating with the dentists to ensure seamless, comprehensive patient care

• Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records

• Adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensuring a safe, clean clinical environment

What we're looking for

• Registered Dental Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist qualification

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, in a private dental practice

• Strong clinical skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care

• Adult scope,  experience in periodonal disease management, restorative dentistry and aligner therapy

• Confidence and experience with Airflow, digital scanners, rubber dam and ability to work solo for hygiene appointments 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to educate and motivate patients

• Proficiency in using dental software and computer systems

• A positive, team-oriented attitude and a willingness to contribute to the practice's success

• An innovative, adaptive and flexible clinician with a growth mindset
