About the role
Beanies Family Support is a locally based team providing disability and family support across the Huon Valley and Southern Tasmania.
We’re looking for Support Workers who genuinely enjoy working alongside people, building relationships and helping people get more out of everyday life.
We’re not recruiting to fill a quota or looking for a particular number of workers. We’re growing our team and want to find the right people to grow with us.
Whether you already have experience in disability support or you're someone with the right attitude who is looking for a new direction, we'd love to hear from you.
What the role looks like
Our Support Workers provide individualised support based around the person, their goals and their life.
Depending on who you're matched with, a shift might involve:
We aim to create regular participant-worker matches, rather than having workers constantly moving between unfamiliar people. Building trust and genuine relationships is an important part of how we work.
About the position
This is a casual position under SCHADS Award Level 2.1, with approximately 10–30 hours per week potentially available depending on your availability, participant matching and service demand.
We're looking for people with flexible availability, as support can take place during weekdays, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
For the right people, there may also be opportunities to move into permanent part-time employment as your regular hours and participant relationships develop.
You don't need to know everything on day one
Disability support experience is valuable, but we're also interested in people who bring the right character, life experience and willingness to learn.
Training and support are available.
More than anything, we're looking for people who are:
Your interests and personality matter too. Great participant matches often come from shared interests, whether that's sport, gaming, cooking, animals, cars, music, the outdoors, creative activities or something completely different.
Working with Beanies
We're a small local team, and our Directors remain actively involved in day-to-day operations and support delivery.
You'll know the people you work with, have people you can actually speak to when you need support, and have the opportunity to become a meaningful part of the team as we grow.
Our Support Work Hub is located in the heart of the Huon Valley, providing a local base for our team and the people we support.
We offer:

Interested?
We'd love to hear a little about you, not just read a list of qualifications.
Send us your resume along with a short introduction telling us why support work interests you, what you could bring to the people we support, and any interests, experience or skills that might help us find a great participant match.
Multiple positions are available, but we're not recruiting to a number - we're looking for the right people.
Applications close 10th of September.
Expected start date Early October.
Pay: $45.28 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 30.0 per week
