About the role
About TEC Automation
TEC Automation is a Darwin-based industrial electrical, instrumentation and automation company, delivering work across Darwin, Katherine, Tennant Creek and remote Northern Territory. Founded in 2019, we've built our reputation on one thing: showing up, fixing the problem properly, and learning every day.
Our work spans from building maintenance and repairs, SCADA and PLC programming, BMS integration, switchboard manufacturing, instrumentation and calibration, and hazardous area electrical, for clients including Power & Water Corporation, Territory Generation and Defence contractors across the Territory.
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Electrical Instrumentation Technician to join our Darwin team. This isn't an entry-level position. We want someone who can hit the ground running: read a job, price it up, and get on with it.
TEC is a genuinely autonomous place to work. You'll have the freedom to use your experience, skills and initiative to get the job done, working across instrumentation, calibration, automation and control systems, and general industrial electrical work for some of the Territory's leading operators.
What You'll Bring
• Experienced and qualified electrician with an NT 'A' Grade Electrical Workers Licence
• Solid instrumentation experience, and confidence to work independently from day one
• Ability to price up and take ownership of your own jobs
• Initiative, and a genuine sense of ownership over your work
Project management or job estimating experience is well regarded.
What TEC Offers
• A genuinely autonomous workplace: freedom to bring your skills and initiative to the job.
• Variety of work across power, water, Defence and industrial infrastructure in Darwin and around the NT
• Opportunity for remote work: travel to Katherine, Tennant Creek and remote NT sites
• Further support with training and upskilling
• A small, close-knit crew
Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience ($55ph - $65ph)
