Data and Integration Engineer

Bindaree Food Group is one of Australia's largest privately owned beef processing and value-adding businesses. Our Azure data platform carries the reporting that runs the Group - livestock, production, finance, workforce, safety and commercial and exchanges data daily with our major grocery customers.

We are looking for a Data & Integration Engineer to own it. You will report directly to the Chief Information Officer, and the data team is being built around this role.

The role

• Own a production Azure integration estate - 20+ Logic Apps (Standard), 200+ workflows, supported by Azure Functions.
• Administer and tune Azure SQL Managed Instance across roughly 25 databases.
• Maintain EDI and file exchange with our major grocery customers.
• Lead the migration from Azure Analysis Services to Microsoft Fabric.
• Build Power BI semantic models and set the standards the team builds to.
• Introduce source control and automated deployment.
• Make sure the platform underneath our AI work is governed and trustworthy.

What you will bring

• Five or more years in data engineering, integration engineering or BI development.
• Strong, current, hands-on Azure - Logic Apps or a comparable integration platform, Azure Functions, Azure SQL.
• Deep SQL and T-SQL, including performance tuning.
• Proven Power BI - DAX, data modelling, semantic models and workspace administration.
• Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities and Key Vault.
• Integration patterns in production - SFTP, EDI, REST, queueing and incremental loads.
• The judgement and self-sufficiency to own a production platform.

Nice to have
Microsoft Fabric. Azure DevOps, Bicep or Terraform. Food manufacturing, agribusiness or FMCG. Plant, SCADA or weighing data. Applied AI on operational data.

Location & next steps

Base yourself at Brisbane (Lytton), Burleigh Heads, or Inverell, with regular travel between our sites. Some out-of-hours work is required to support scheduled overnight integration workloads.
