About the role
Wellbeing Manager
Law Society of South Australia
Part-time (2–3 days per week) | Adelaide
Lead with Purpose. Deliver with Impact. Shape the Wellbeing of the Legal Profession.
Are you an experienced psychology professional ready to lead meaningful change in workplace wellbeing?
The Law Society of South Australia is the peak professional body for legal practitioners in South Australia. We support, represent and regulate the profession while promoting high standards of ethics, professionalism and wellbeing. Our work is grounded in integrity, independence and service to the public and the profession.
We are seeking a highly skilled and values‑driven Wellbeing Manager to lead and deliver its mental health and wellbeing strategy for the legal profession. This is a rare opportunity to influence culture, build sector‑leading programs, and make a tangible difference to the wellbeing and resilience of legal practitioners across South Australia.
Operating at the intersection of strategy, service delivery and professional engagement, this role suits a practitioner who combines clinical credibility with strong program leadership and stakeholder capability.
The Opportunity
As Wellbeing Manager, you will have responsibility for the Law Society’s wellbeing strategy, including the coordination and delivery of mental health and wellbeing services, professional support programs (including LawCare), mentoring programs and initiatives that promote positive workplace culture across the legal profession and within the Society itself.
Reporting to the Director, Ethics & Practice, you will play a trusted advisory and delivery role—translating evidence‑based practice into practical, accessible programs that support practitioners across diverse practice settings.
In this role, you will:
Lead the planning, development and delivery of the Law Society’s mental health and wellbeing strategy
Coordinate professional support, counselling and practitioner assistance services, including LawCare
Design and deliver wellbeing, resilience and positive workplace culture initiatives, workshops and campaigns
Apply trauma‑informed and evidence‑based approaches across all programs and services
Identify trends, risks and opportunities impacting practitioner wellbeing, with a focus on primary prevention
Build and manage strong partnerships with external service providers and sector stakeholders
Ensure service provider agreements are reviewed, renewed and monitored for quality and value
Contribute to education, publications and thought leadership on wellbeing in the legal profession
Use data and evaluation to continuously improve program effectiveness and impact
About You
You are a highly capable wellbeing professional who brings clinical expertise together with strategic thinking and practical delivery. You are confident working with senior professionals, comfortable navigating sensitive issues, and motivated by improving systems and culture—not just individual outcomes.
You will bring:
A degree qualification in psychology, with at least 5 years’ post‑graduate experience
Current AHPRA registration
Demonstrated experience delivering corporate or profession‑wide mental health and psychosocial wellbeing programs
Strong expertise advising on psychological wellbeing in workplace, HR or WHS contexts
A sound understanding of trauma‑informed practice, vicarious trauma and psychosocial risk
Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong analytical and project management capability, with the ability to manage competing priorities
A professional, discreet and compassionate approach when handling confidential and sensitive matters
Most importantly, you are purpose‑driven. You bring empathy without losing rigour, professionalism without losing humanity, and you are committed to making a genuine difference to the lives of others.
What We Offer
The opportunity to shape wellbeing outcomes across the legal profession.
Meaningful work supporting an organisation with public and professional impact.
A flexible part‑time role (2–3 days per week).
Competitive remuneration aligned with market rates.
Generous suppuration contribution of 15.65%
