Leading Hand

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Leading Hand to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role that will see you coordinating site activities, leading electrical crews, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Working across a variety of site-based project works, you will be responsible for supervising personnel, managing resources, maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring project outcomes meet time, cost and quality expectations.

While we would prefer candidates based in the Mackay region, we are also open to considering exceptional applicants from outside the area who can work on a FIFO or DIDO basis.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Lead, coordinate and supervise site-based electrical teams.

• Plan and organise labour, materials, plant and equipment to achieve project deliverables.

• Maintain project schedules and ensure works are completed on time.

• Monitor quality standards and attention to detail across all site activities.

• Promote and maintain safe work practices and effective use of tools and equipment.

• Allocate resources efficiently to maximise productivity.

• Liaise with internal stakeholders to support successful project delivery.

• Identify and resolve operational challenges proactively.

• Manage company assets including tools, equipment and vehicles.

• Maintain high housekeeping standards across project sites.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.

• Provide clear and timely communication regarding project scope, schedule and costs.

• Ensure customers receive high-quality service before, during and after project delivery.

People Leadership

• Communicate clear expectations, roles and responsibilities to team members.

• Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring and constructive performance feedback.

• Ensure employees are appropriately trained and competent for assigned tasks.

• Conduct regular meetings and toolbox talks.

• Foster a positive, productive and safety-focused team culture.

Commercial Performance

• Understand project budgets, job costing and labour estimates.

• Monitor project costs and productivity against targets.

• Ensure compliance with customer contract requirements.

• Plan work effectively to achieve budget and scheduling objectives.

Continuous Improvement

• Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.

• Identify and pursue personal and professional growth opportunities.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and safe work practices.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

Essential Requirements

• Electrical Trade Qualification.

• Current Australian Driver's Licence.

• Demonstrated experience in site project works in a similar leadership role.

• High Voltage (HV) experience.

• Strong leadership and team management capability.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Strong organisational and time management skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Demonstrated ability to identify, assess and manage workplace hazards and risks.

• Commitment to safety, quality and customer service excellence.
