Midnight Hotel is currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Assistant Housekeeper to join our Housekeeping team in a full-time position.

As Assistant Housekeeper, you will play an integral role in the day-to-day operation of the Housekeeping department, supporting the Housekeeping Manager in leading the team and ensuring the hotel’s cleanliness, presentation and guest service standards are consistently maintained.

This is a hands-on and physically demanding operational role. While the position includes supervisory and administrative responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to actively assist the Housekeeping team operationally when required and be comfortable using housekeeping equipment, including carpet cleaning machines, floor polishers and other heavy cleaning equipment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Housekeeping department, preferably within a hotel environment

• At least 1 year’s experience in a supervisory or management role within a hotel

• Strong leadership, communication and team management skills

• A practical, hands-on approach to housekeeping operations

• The ability to train, coach and support team members to achieve hotel standards

• Strong organisational and time-management skills

• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hotel environment

• A willingness and ability to undertake physical housekeeping duties and operate commercial cleaning equipment

• A strong understanding of cleanliness, presentation and guest service standards

• Manage the daily workload, performance and development of Room Attendants, Public Area Attendants, Housepersons and Housekeeping Supervisors

• Train, coach and support new team members to ensure they meet hotel standards and operational requirements

• Manage and monitor Room Attendant productivity, ensuring daily targets and quality standards are consistently achieved

• Review and approve departmental timesheets, including hours, attendance, overtime and leave

• Log, manage and securely store all lost property in accordance with hotel procedures

• Manage the Housekeeping Bonvoy Connector, ensuring all relevant tasks and updates are completed accurately and on time.

• Prepare and distribute daily Housekeeping reports, including morning and end-of-day operational reports

• Work closely with other departments to support smooth hotel operations and respond promptly to guest needs

• Assist in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and guest service throughout the hotel

• Support the Housekeeping Manager with daily operations, team coordination, staff management and other departmental requirements

• Maintain accurate records and ensure all departmental trackers are kept up to date

• Provide hands-on operational support to the Housekeeping team when required, including assisting with cleaning and operating housekeeping equipment

This role will be based on a rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and public holidays as required.
