About Us

We are a large, privately owned family office based in Southbank, with a diverse portfolio of businesses and investments across property development, construction, manufacturing, hospitality and financial services.

We are seeking an Accountant to join our established finance team and support the accounting and financial reporting requirements of entities across the group.

The Role

This is a broad accounting role offering exposure to a diverse and complex private group. Working closely with senior members of the finance team, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing management reports and supporting the group’s broader tax, compliance and reporting obligations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports

• Maintaining general ledgers across a portfolio of entities

• Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations

• Managing intercompany transactions and loan reconciliations

• Preparing detailed year-end workpapers and supporting schedules

• Assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements

• Supporting the year-end audit process and responding to auditor queries

• Assisting with cash flow reporting and treasury activities

• Preparing BAS and other statutory compliance workpapers

• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis

• Liaising with internal stakeholders, external accountants, auditors and tax advisers

• Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls

• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc projects and reporting

About You

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

• At least three years’ experience in an accounting role

• A degree in accounting, commerce or a related discipline

• CA or CPA qualification, or be working towards completion

• Strong experience preparing year-end accounts and supporting workpapers

• Strong technical accounting and reconciliation skills

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

• The ability to manage multiple entities and competing priorities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• A proactive, practical and collaborative approach

Experience within a family office, property group, construction business or large privately owned group would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
