Irrigation Supervisor

Primary Purpose:

Exciting opportunity to work in a growing company, working with the Irrigation Manager and Irrigations and Orchard Teams to ensure the day-to-day operations are being carried out and completed as per AFS requirements.

The Irrigation Supervisor collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, resolve irrigation-related issues, and optimise irrigations to meet business expectations.

Responsible for assisting managing irrigations across the site, making recommendations on irrigation related issues across the orchard and staying abreast of all irrigation related issues, regulations, legislations that relate to the Business.

Key Role Responsibilities:

In conjunction with the Irrigation Manager:

• Assist with the implementation of irrigation and irrigation maintenance programs for the orchard.

• Carry out repairs and maintenance on the orchard irrigation system and equipment.

• Conduct work in a safe manner and to a standard that aligns with AFS processes and procedures.

• Works and services on irrigation system and equipment to be carried out as per manufacturer’s guidelines.

• Record information relating to irrigation system and equipment repairs and maintenance.

• Maintain a sound relationship with employees and contractors.

• Ensure compliance and continuation with QA programs in place.

• Comply with all policies and procedures.

• Promote culture of safety, continuously work towards a safety culture of zero harm.

• Other duties as required.

Employee requirements:

The following aspects are highly desirable attributes for a Irrigation Supervisor. They are seen as highly desirable, though not essential:

• Trade qualified or 2+ years’ experience working within an irrigation system in intensive agriculture, preferably Almonds or horticulture,
• Excellent interpersonal skills on all levels
• Excellent time management skills
• Knowledge of Almond industry/horticulture (desirable)
• Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to complete
