About the role
Role Description In this part-time, entry / junior Business Analyst role, based in Melbourne, VIC with a hybrid work arrangement, the team member supports data-driven insights and process improvements for BOGA’s programs and operations. Day-to-day tasks include collecting and validating data, performing basic quantitative and qualitative analysis, and preparing clear reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. The role helps document and refine business processes, gather and clarify business requirements from team members, and support the design of tools and workflows that improve efficiency and transparency. The analyst collaborates closely with policy, communications, and operations staff to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations. Some work from home is acceptable, combined with on-site collaboration in Melbourne as needed.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and draw clear conclusions.Candidates should possess Business Analysis capabilities, such as requirements gathering, basic stakeholder analysis, and translating insights into recommendations.Candidates should possess solid Communication skills, including writing concise reports, presenting findings, and engaging with diverse stakeholders.Candidates should possess understanding of Business Process concepts and methods for documenting, mapping, and improving workflows.Candidates should possess the ability to define and manage Business Requirements that support projects, tools, and organizational needs.Relevant tertiary education or progress toward a degree in business, economics, public policy, data science, or a related field.Comfort with spreadsheets and data visualization tools; experience with basic statistical or analytics software is beneficial.Interest in climate policy, energy transition, and international collaboration, with a commitment to evidence-based decision-making.Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment, manage time effectively, and adapt to evolving priorities in a small, mission-driven team.
