Graphic Designer

Salary 
$35,364 to $39,602 per annum (based on 2 days per week, or 28 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience.

About the role 
In this role you will work with teams across Council to develop engaging, accessible and effective visual communications across print and digital channels. The role includes a mix of visual concept development and template-based design work for reports and documents, promotional campaigns, digital content, signage and other corporate communications.  As part of a job-share arrangement, you will collaborate closely with another Graphic Designer, sharing work, maintaining organised files and ensuring continuity of projects across the team. 

The position will: 

• Provide assistance to Council teams and stakeholders in relation to the design and production of finished artwork. 
• Interpret communication requirements and provide design advice to achieve project objectives.  
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure quality print production outcomes 

Position requirements 

• Diploma in graphic design or deemed equivalent experience 

About you 

You will have:

• Demonstrated experience in developing new visual concepts though graphic design 
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a shared design environment, including effective project handover and shared ownership of work 
• Ability to communicate complex information through clear, engaging and inclusive visual design 
• Experience working and communicating in a team environment 
• High-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Demonstrated understanding of accessible design principles will be highly regarded.
