701 Recruitment is partnering with one of Australia's leading waste management companies, proudly Australian-owned and operating for over 30 years.
 
As Queensland's only high-temperature hazardous waste treatment facility, our client continues to grow and is looking for a reliable, trade-qualified Workshop Mechanic to join their maintenance team based in Willawong.
 
This is a hands-on workshop role where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of trucks, fixed plant equipment, the site's incinerator, and a range of on-site machinery to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair heavy vehicles and trucks
• Perform preventative maintenance on fixed plant equipment
• Diagnose and repair faults on workshop and site machinery
• Assist with maintenance of the site's hazardous waste incinerator
• Complete inspections and maintenance records
• Work safely while maintaining a clean and organised workshop

To be successful you will have

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Fitter, Plant Mechanic or similar
• Experience servicing heavy vehicles, fixed plant or industrial equipment
• Current Police Check (or willing to obtain) (MANDATORY) 
• Evidence of two COVID-19 vaccinations (MANDATORY) 
• Strong fault-finding and mechanical repair skills
• Current driver's licence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
