About the role

Blackmans Bay Plumbing Pty Ltd is seeking a Qualified Plumber (preferably cert 4) to join our growing team in Hobart. This is a full-time position based in Hobart TAS 7000. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems for residential and commercial clients. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential to ensuring that all work meets industry standards and exceeds customer expectations. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects whilst building a strong reputation within the Hobart community.

Key responsibilities

• Install and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and fittings in residential and commercial properties

• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential issues

• Respond to emergency call-outs and provide prompt solutions to plumbing problems

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and specifications to plan plumbing installations

• Diagnose plumbing faults using testing equipment and troubleshoot issues efficiently

• Ensure all work complies with local building codes, regulations and safety standards

• Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used

• Communicate effectively with clients, explaining work required and providing professional advice

• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order

• Support team members and contribute to a safe and collaborative work environment

What we're looking for

• Current plumbing qualifications and a valid plumbing licence recognised in Tasmania

• Proven experience as a qualified plumber, ideally with a minimum of 3 years' experience

• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and best practice installation techniques

• Competency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications

• A sound understanding of local building codes and plumbing regulations in Tasmania

• Problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and repair complex plumbing issues

• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach to customer service

• Physical fitness and the ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces

• A valid driver's licence and reliable transport to attend job sites

• A commitment to health and safety practices on all projects

• Team-working ability and flexibility to respond to changing priorities
