Procurement Manager - Leading insurance firm

JS Careers is partnering with a leading insurance firm to source a Procurement Manager to join a small but high performing team. The role will work closely with all the business units across the group in a collaborative way. You will act as a trusted advisor to the business providing support and guidance to implement procurement strategies to ensure the highest levels of service in a cost effective way.The role will also include a change management element, given the necessary transformation to processes under CPS230.
Key responsibilities:Cost analysis evaluations to help identify opportunities to improve service offerings and cost effectiveness.Take the lead on strategic procurement projects from RFP to contract negotiations.Manage contract negotiations in a commercial way.Ensure strategic and operational needs are met with the provision of products and services from vendors and suppliers.Set the strategy and ensure compliance with supplier governance for the business.Implement necessary changes to procurement processes under APRA Prudential Standard CPS230
Key Requirements:Relevant tertiary qualifications in business/commerce, finance/accounting, engineering, IT, Procurement or a related discipline.5+ years experience working in a procurement function.Experience in Insurance or broader Financial Services industry would be preferred although not essential.Demonstrated success dealing with procurement processes and strategies.Understanding of the APRA requirements under CPS230.Strong negotiation and commercial analysis skills.Ability to lead and complex business wide transformation projects.
