Parks & Reserves Serviceperson
Location: Lawrence Drive, Devonport
Employment Type: Full Time – 9-day fortnight
Classification: Level 3
Salary: $68,274 + superannuation
Join our team at Devonport City Council!
We are seeking a motivated Parks & Reserves Serviceperson to assist in the maintenance and enhancement of our city’s public open spaces. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with experience, or a strong interest, in turf management.
In this position, you will contribute to the upkeep of parks, reserves, and community facilities, ensuring they are clean, safe, and welcoming for the community to enjoy.

What you’ll be doing:
Carrying out maintenance, operations and minor construction across Council’s parks and public spaces.
Providing excellent customer service while engaging with community members.
Working collaboratively within the Parks & Reserves team and assisting other work areas when needed.
Operating and maintaining plant and equipment safely and efficiently.
Contributing to proactive inspection programs and supporting workplace improvements.
What you’ll bring:
Experience in maintaining public open space assets (local government experience desirable).
Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
A proactive, safety‑focused approach and willingness to learn.
Current driver’s licence (essential); horticulture qualification, MR licence, White Card, chemical handling or first aid certificates (desirable).
