The Opportunity

Are you a trade-qualified Diesel Fitter with experience maintaining heavy mining equipment and a passion for delivering safe, reliable results? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Diesel Fitters to join our high-performing team at the QCoal Northern Hub Coal Project near Collinsville in the Bowen Basin.

As a key member of the maintenance team, you'll support the safe and efficient operation of our mining fleet through planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, and component change-outs, helping maximise equipment reliability and utilisation.

As the Diesel Fitter, you will:

Perform servicing, repairs, and maintenance on large-scale mobile mining equipment in accordance with Thiess maintenance systems and procedures.Complete general maintenance, breakdown repairs, servicing, and component change-outs to a high standard.Utilise OEM manuals, technical bulletins, and computer-based systems to diagnose faults and source technical information.Conduct inspections to maximise equipment availability and reliability.Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards across all work areas.

About You

Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or equivalent qualification.Post-trade experience within the mining, heavy earthmoving, or related industry.Hands-on experience with servicing, breakdowns, component change-outs, and maintenance of heavy mobile equipment.Current driver's licence.Current Standard 11.A proactive attitude toward safety and a commitment to fostering a positive safety culture.
