Junior Soil Technician

About the Role
Civiltest Pty Ltd, a leading provider of geotechnical, construction materials and laboratory testing services across Australia, is looking for a Junior Soil Technician to join our Thomastown team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the geotechnical and construction testing industry. No previous experience is required – full training will be provided. You'll gain hands-on experience in both the laboratory and field while working alongside experienced technicians on a variety of infrastructure, mining and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with a range of laboratory and field soil testing, including moisture content, density, particle size distribution and Atterberg limits

• Prepare, test and record soil samples in accordance with Australian Standards and company procedures

• Learn to operate and maintain laboratory and field testing equipment

• Accurately record test results and assist with report preparation

• Support senior technicians with field investigations and site testing

• Follow company health, safety and quality procedures at all times

• Work as part of a supportive team while developing your technical skills

What We're Looking For

• No previous experience required – full training provided

• A genuine interest in science, engineering, construction or laboratory work

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work both indoors in the laboratory and outdoors on project sites

• Current driver's licence is required
